Service Technician

  • POSITION TITLE: Service Technician                                     DEPARTMENT: Service Operations

    IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Office Manager / Service Coordinator

    POSITION SUMMARY: to provide product repairs, service and delivery to customers with the ability to offer excellent problem solving and customer service that exceeds customer’s expectations.


    • Completes daily service orders as assigned; cleans, repairs and installs accessories on new/used/rental equipment using hand and power tools as required

    • Examines work, tests and ensures that equipment is functioning properly before leaving the service shop or customer’s location

    • Provides daily feedback to Service Coordinator on the status and outcome of all assigned service orders

    • Submits completed service orders to the Office Manager, with all parts needed and work hours accurately documented to ensure proper billing to the customers

    • Delivers equipment or product orders to customers as required

    • Responsible for regular service vehicle maintenance, including washing the service vehicle and cleaning the interior with proper storage and repair of tools

    • Maintains accurate record of mileage and submit report to Office Manager monthly

    • Completes other tasks as assigned

    • Must attend and participate in all service and staff meetings as required


    • Minimum education requirement: Grade 12 graduate

    • Mechanical & general equipment maintenance training or equivalent experience required with the ability to handle small hand and power tools as required

    • Personal / Criminal Background check required

    • Minimum 3 to 5 years work mechanical repair experience

    • Ability to work effectively with minimal direction or supervision

    • Must be an effective problem solver with good organization skill and time management

    • Must have and maintain a valid Manitoba Drivers’ License and clean driving abstract

    • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills

      • (English as the primary spoken language)

    • Must have strong people skills and demonstrate a positive team player attitude
